Fostering Community Through Service

Last October 23, the IDC team visited Besigan Elementary School in Barangay Besigan, Cagayan de Oro City, With bags full of brightly colored notebooks, pencils, crayons, and other school essentials, the team arrived at the school greeted by the shy but eager faces of the students. This outreach program is a testament to IDC’s dedication to fostering community bonds and extending a helping hand. Located in a remote and often underserved part of Cagayan de Oro, Besigan Elementary School has a student body full of bright, eager learners with limited access to educational resources. Understanding the importance of empowering these young minds, IDC organized a heartfelt visit to distribute school supplies—ensuring that each child receives essential materials for their education. The smiles on the children’s faces were infectious as they received new notebooks, pens, crayons, and other essentials. Beyond the school supplies, IDC brought an additional treat: a Jollibee meal for every child. Watching the joy on each child’s face as they enjoyed their meals was a reminder of the simple ways we can bring happiness to others. For IDC, this initiative was about more than just the tangible gifts; it was about creating moments of happiness, sharing experiences, and uplifting spirits. The team’s interactions with the children underscored their commitment to fostering a supportive and compassionate community. IDC's outreach program in Barangay Besigan embodies the company’s core values of community engagement, sustainability, and social responsibility. By reaching out to communities across the Philippines, especially in Cagayan de Oro where IDC first planted its roots, the company is making a tangible impact on lives while reinforcing its commitment to a sustainable and inclusive future. As IDC continues its mission of creating eco-friendly developments and building sustainable communities, it will remain dedicated to initiatives that extend beyond buildings and properties. Through acts of service like this, IDC is inspiring change, one child and one community at a time.

IDC Extends Support To Typhoon-Affected Sto. Tomas, Batangas

The community outreach program, held last October 30 2024, embodied IDC's commitment to corporate social responsibility, aiming to provide immediate aid to those in need. By reaching out to these affected areas, the IDC team offered essential goods to help the families cope with the storm's aftermath, which disrupted many lives and livelihoods across the region. The relief packs, which contained rice, canned goods, ready-to-eat noodles, chocolates and biscuits, and coffee among many others, were thoughtfully prepared to address the basic necessities of the affected families. Beyond extending support to affected residents, Architect Nati also took the opportunity to engage in discussions with key local leaders to explore sustainable development opportunities in Sto. Tomas. He made a courtesy call with Atty. Arth Jhun Marasigan - Mayor of Sto. Tomas and Congressman Hon. Ray T. Reyes, where they discussed economic plans that align with IDC’s mission to foster sustainable urban development. These conversations centered on future growth strategies for the city, with a focus on sustainable and green projects that could enhance the quality of life for residents while promoting environmental stewardship. As part of this visit, Architect Nati also connected with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) to discuss potential collaborations with IDC and its Miramonti project. By working closely with CENRO, IDC aims to support the city’s environmental goals and integrate sustainable practices within its developments. Additionally, Architect Nati met with the City Planning Officer to better understand Sto. Tomas’s disaster readiness, local government unit (LGU) initiatives for calamity response, and how IDC can further contribute to disaster-resilient infrastructure. Through these conversations, IDC is exploring ways to incorporate Sto. Tomas's resilience goals into its projects, offering a proactive approach to both sustainable growth and disaster preparedness. This outreach initiative, coupled with Architect Nati’s meaningful engagements with local leaders and offices, highlights IDC’s dedication to being more than a developer.

Building Sustainability and Culture: Italpinas Development Corporation goes to the Higalaay Festival 2024

A vibrant and cherished celebration in the city of Golden Friendship, this festival is a yearly testament to the enduring spirit of human connection. A time when locals and visitors alike come together to honor CdO's rich cultural heritage. The festival celebrates the spirit of friendship and unity among the people of CDO, highlighting local culture, traditions, and the environment. Similarly, IDC focuses on sustainable development, creating eco-friendly buildings that harmonize with their surroundings and promote a sense of community among residents. Higaalay directly translates to “friendship” in the local dialect, a fitting name for a festival that encapsulates the heart and soul of Cagayan de Oro. The week-long celebration is packed with events that highlight the city’s culture, from the energetic street dancing competitions to the most awaited fluvial parade. But beyond all the festivities, there is a deeper narrative that resonates with the values of sustainability and responsible development. And who better to embody this than IDC, a company that, over 15+ years, has seamlessly woven the principles of eco-friendliness and innovation into the fabric of its projects, all under the helm of Architect Romolo V. Nati. So, what does the Higalaay Festival have in common with IDC? At first glance, the connection might seem unlikely, but both share a common thread: a commitment to nurturing and protecting the community. Just as the festival celebrates the bonds of friendship and unity, IDC’s projects are designed to create sustainable communities that thrive in harmony with nature. As Cagayan de Oro celebrates the Higalaay Festival, it’s a perfect moment to reflect on the importance of creating spaces that honor our shared values of friendship, community, and sustainability. Italpinas Development Corporation, under the guidance of Architect Romolo V. Nati, is paving the way for a future where these values are at the forefront of urban development. In all of its essence, the Higalaay Festival and IDC are both about connections — whether it’s the connection between people or the connection between humanity and the environment. As we look forward to more celebrations and more sustainable developments, let’s take a page from both and continue to build a future where friendship and sustainability go hand in hand.

Italpinas x Liter of Light Guinness World Record

Italpinas Development Corporation (IDC) proudly celebrates its partnership with Liter of Light in setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest solar artwork in the Philippines, a landmark achievement that highlights sustainability, innovation, and community action. With the creative vision of artist Odengputik and the expertise of IDC’s architects, the team helped plot and design an extraordinary installation made from 3,500 solar lamps housed in handmade clay pots, symbolizing the harmony between Filipino craftsmanship and renewable energy. The solar light artwork was first assembled at the Asian Institute of Management, and later unveiled on July 1, 2025, at the National Museum in Manila before hundreds of attendees, including leaders from various environmental organizations, advocates, and members of the media. Beyond its scale and artistry, the initiative carries a profound impact: the solar lamps used in the installation were later distributed to communities in need, providing sustainable lighting solutions and improving quality of life for countless families. This achievement not only set a new world record, surpassing the previous holder, India, but also underscored IDC’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, aligning its mission of building sustainable communities with meaningful contributions that extend well beyond real estate. At IDC, we believe that every light, every project, and every collaboration can inspire hope and pave the way for a brighter, more sustainable tomorrow.

IDC Plants Seeds for a Greener Future with Mangrove Planting Activity in Cagayan de Oro

As part of our continuing mission to build sustainable communities and a greener tomorrow, Italpinas Development Corporation (IDC) recently joined hands with the 71st Air Force Group Reserve, ACDI Multipurpose Cooperative, Kiwanis Club of Sidlak CDO, and the City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO) for a Mangrove Planting Activity along the shorelines of Barangay Bonbon, Cagayan de Oro City. By engaging in initiatives that directly benefit the environment, IDC reinforces its vision of empowering communities while safeguarding natural resources for future generations. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners and volunteers who made this initiative possible. With every mangrove planted, we move closer to creating resilient, eco-friendly spaces that thrive in harmony with nature. At IDC, we look forward to more future-forward and nature-friendly activities that continue to make a positive impact on both people and the planet.

More than just planting, the activity also reflected IDC’s core values of teamwork, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship. It was a day of learning, bonding, and giving back to nature—proving once again that sustainability begins with collective action. IDC is proud of its employees for being active stewards of the environment and looks forward to more initiatives that foster growth, resilience, and a greener tomorrow.
